Do You Need an Oil Change?

One of the best ways to ensure your car is always filled with quality motor oil is to follow a regularly scheduled service. Doing so makes sure that the motor oil currently in your vehicle never gets too old. But along with this, it’s also important to know common warning signs, as this can help you prevent an issue from worsening and save you money in the long run. Not sure what to look for? Here are two common signs that it’s time for an oil change:

Dark Oil: clean motor oil should have an amber color and be relatively clear. If you’re checking the oil and see that it looks dark and dirty, then you need an oil change. Don’t be worried if you see this though, as it’s natural for the oil to take on this appearance over time. Just make sure to act quickly as this could eventually turn to sludge, which is awful for your vehicle.

Low Oil Levels: for your car’s engine to perform properly, it must maintain a certain level. If you notice that the motor oil is low, you should have it checked by experts. It may only need a top-off or it might need brand new oil. Regardless, driving with low motor oil is horrible for the engine, so we recommend action as soon as possible.
